The bigger, slower pieces from the Henroo studio — characterful ceramic figurines, animal sculptures, and the occasional unclassifiable creature that started as one idea and ended up as something else entirely. Each Sculpture is hand-built from scratch, with no two ever the same.
These pieces take longer than the rest of the work: more clay, more time at the workbench, more decisions about a posture, an expression, or how a tail wants to curl. They move through several stages of building, drying, biscuit firing, glazing and a second firing, and they sometimes argue back along the way. The finished pieces carry the marks of that process — fingerprints in the slip, soft surface variations from the glaze, small imperfections that wouldn't survive a moulded production line.
This is the section to start with if you're after a statement piece: a single, characterful object with weight and presence to anchor a shelf, a sideboard, or a quiet corner of a room.
