Drop No. 7: Thumblings, Minis and a kiln-load of new faces

New ceramic pieces from Henroo Drop No. 7: Thumblings, a basket of Mini Monsters, a trinket dish, raku pieces, a pumpkin and a penguin

Drop No. 7 is in the shop, and it’s the biggest mix I’ve put out in one go! Pocket-sized newcomers, three new trinket dishes, a few makes straight from the raku fire, and the odd penguin.

Say hello to the Thumblings

The Thumblings are brand new: small, round characters with unglazed eyes you can’t help running a thumb over. Reggie, Penny, Nigel, Fern, Mavis and Albie each wear a different crystalite glaze. They make great desk buddies, and they fit in a pocket. Meet the Thumblings.

The six Thumblings in a row: Reggie in red, Penny in yellow, Nigel in sky blue, Fern in mottled green, Mavis in blue and lilac, and pale Albie

And the Minis

Half the size of a Thumbling are the Mini Monster Moods: 2 to 4 cm tall, each with its own expression. They feel great jingling in your pocket, as a little fidget, or just as a little friend to keep you company. Choose one, three or five and I’ll pick the moods for you, so you won’t know who’s coming until they arrive!

Three new trinket dishes

Rainfall, Rockpool and Tideline are small dishes in pooling blues, for rings, keys and whatever else gathers by the bed. There’s one of each, over with the trinket dishes.

From the raku fire

Three makes survived the raku kiln and came out in shifting teal and copper metallics: the Raku Fire Demon and my two fancy lady mushrooms, Prudence and Daphne, arms folded as ever. You can read all about the day they were fired.

And the rest of the shelf

There are new Funguys (three have already found new homes, and Mushle is still waiting), two glazed pumpkins in the pottery section, Percy the penguin, a lurcher with one ear cocked, and Cedrick, a big speckled blue monster who loves whistling a happy tune.

Every one is one of a kind, so each can only go to one home. Have a nose around the shop and see who catches your eye. Which is your favourite?

The monsters have landed

The monsters are live in the shop!

Months of work and love have been poured into these little guys, and I’d be forever grateful if one made it into your home.

If you read last week’s note, you’ll know it’s a smaller drop than I’d planned. The markets were kinder to me than I expected, so fewer made it back to the studio. Every one is hand-built and one of a kind, so each little face is the only one there is.

Go and meet the new batch in the shop. If your favourite finds a new home before you get there, don’t worry, there are more in the makings!
