A storming day at the Claires House Pottery ceramics market

A storming day at the Claires House Pottery ceramics market

Well, I’m still buzzing. We packed the car to the roof with bubble wrap and took a little corner of the studio along to the spring ceramics market at Claires House Pottery — and what a Sunday it turned out to be.

If you’ve never been, Claires House Pottery puts on a proper community day: tables and tables of gorgeous ceramics, plus cakes, locally roasted coffee, music drifting through, and the chance to nose around the studio. Free entry, free parking, accessible, dog friendly — the whole lot. The place was buzzing from the moment the doors opened at ten.

A couple of peeks at the market — over on Instagram.

A table full of personality

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to everyone who stopped by, said hello, and gave one of my hand-built characters a new home. A few one-of-a-kind makes I’d been quietly hoarding in the studio finally found their people — and because every piece is made by hand, once it’s gone, it’s gone for good.

Market days feel a bit like sending small friends off into the world — nerve-wracking and joyful in equal measure.

If a day like this has you itching to get your hands muddy, do go and say hello to the team at Claires House Pottery — they’re lovely to chat to about classes, pot painting, parties and events, market or no market.

And if we met on Sunday: thank you, truly. If you missed it, don’t worry — the next Henroo drop lands in the shop soon, and there’ll be more market dates before long. Follow along on Instagram for the behind-the-scenes (and the occasional kiln-opening reveal).
